Research Interests

My primary research focus is upon improving clinical outcomes and the quality of care.  I am studying the risk of significant bleeding among warfarin users following antimicrobial prescription. My goal is to identify risk factors for bleeding and implement expert systems to reduce this risk. I am also interested in prosthetic joint infections. A second project will examine the impact of molecular diagnostic tools to identify organisms in culture-negative prosthetic joint infections and its impact on antibiotic use and clinical outcomes. I am also working on several projects to improve the quality of care for patients with HIV.
